Which seat for which age
Seat choice depends on weight and height rather than age. The split below is the rule of thumb we work with; if your child falls between two, tell us the weight and we will pick the right one.
In Türkiye an appropriate restraint is mandatory for children under 150 cm, and front-seat use is restricted. This is a rule we follow — we bring the correct seat whether or not you ask for it.
- 0-13 kg — infant carrier, rear-facing
- 9-18 kg — forward-facing child seat with harness
- 15-36 kg — booster used with the car's own belt
- Over 150 cm — the standard seat belt is sufficient
What to tell us at booking
The seat is fitted in the car beforehand. Saying “we also have a baby with us” at the terminal exit means a delay if no suitable seat is on board at that moment.
Just tell us how many children, their ages and rough weights. If two infant seats are needed it also affects the vehicle class: two seats take up most of the rear bench, so with four adults you will need a VIP van rather than a saloon.
Breaks on longer journeys
On transfers longer than an hour most families with children want a break. On routes like Bodrum (2 hours 45), Marmaris (3 hours 45) and Fethiye (4 hours 30) a stop is effectively necessary.
A 10-15 minute stop at a service area on the route does not affect the price. Your driver knows where to pull in and will choose places where the facilities are clean and workable with a child.
Do say something about the air conditioning and the airflow in the back. Air blowing directly onto the rear seat is a common source of discomfort when travelling with a baby.
Pushchairs, luggage and space
A pushchair does not count towards your luggage allowance and carries no charge. It still helps to say whether it is a cabin-sized buggy or a full travel system: larger pushchairs take the space of two suitcases in a saloon boot.
The most common mistake on family transfers is counting people and forgetting luggage. A family of four fits in a saloon; a family of four with four suitcases, a pushchair and a child seat does not. Enter your real luggage count on the booking form — the system already disables classes that cannot take it.
